Katharine Sinclair MacGregor, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary – Lands and Minerals Management, U.S. Department of the Interior:  Kate serves as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Lands and Minerals Management at the Department of the Interior – where she manages a portfolio that covers four agencies: the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, and the Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement.  Kate joined the Department at the beginning of the Administration, after a decade of service in the House of Representatives where she served as Senior Professional Staff on the House Natural Resources Committee, Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources for two Chairman – Chairman Rob Bishop of Utah and Chairman Doc Hastings of Washington.  In her role on the Committee, Kate advanced legislative policies to promote responsible energy development on federal lands. In her time on Capitol Hill, Kate orchestrated myriad congressional hearings and drafted key legislation aimed at reducing regulatory burdens and expanding access both onshore and offshore, while also demonstrating the economic benefits of U.S. energy production to American families, businesses and our nation’s veterans.  Prior to joining the committee, Kate served as Legislative Director to Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Thelma Drake (R-VA). Kate is a native of Pennsylvania and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
